Malux – False / Optiv & CZA – Dead Beat (Malux Remix)

The man with his finger well and truly placed on the button, that goes by the name of Malux is back once again with some sizzling hot neurofunk, poised to be unleashed early next month, courtesy of the mighty Cause4Concern Recordings. Cause4Concern is on a hot streak of releases with pure fire billowing out of the building at an outstanding rate. With 17 years in the business and a squadron of hit men amongst their ranks such as Optiv & CZA, Subtension, Hanzo & Randie and L 33, just to name a few, they have fabricated the perfect formula on how to terrorise the dancefloor and leave a devastating trail of destruction through seismic waves of pure hefty-tech filth. Release number 38 for C4C Recs this time brings us a brand new single and remix from the super talented producer Malux, who has concocted two refined blends of groove and unmistakable heavyweight neuro infused sounds. This release a fitting addition the labels already impressive back catalogue and signifies an insurgence to the conventional underground sound.

The title track ‘False’ is an all out neurofunk roller, kicking off slowly with syncopated drums and whirling resonant frequencies of what is to come. The energy rises and with that, comes the recognizable signature Malux sound we have all come to love, engulfing the listener in a barrage of panning textures. As the pressure builds, synths and hi-end percussion creep up from the deep, leading to the drop which bursts the door open to a flurry of distorted bass and interesting rolling drums. From start to finish this is high energy funk culminated by careful composition and will hopefully be only a taste of what’s to come.

Now for the enormous remix of ‘Dead Beat’ from none other than two legends of the game and label affiliates, Optiv & CZA. Beautifully crafted this nasty remix keeps the vibe of the original alive, whilst the precision rework flips it on its head. Reverberated mid range stabs cut through a dense field established by that growling signature bass and subtle remnants of the original creep up amongst the chaos. Saturating your ears with speaker popping drums and intricately placed percussive elements, this is a fully packed bassline sandwich covering every frequency with epic effect. Keep an eye for the name, as there are already big things in the works.
