A man like Prolix certainly needs no introduction but he definitely deserves one. Being no stranger to any hardened dnb fan with numerous releases on the biggest labels across the globe, from Ram to Renegade, Bad Taste to Virus, and Metalheadz to Playaz, his unique style of drum and bass has been found to be tearing up every dancefloor it graces. Cementing his place in the industry as one of the heaviest of the heavy hitters, by delivering high quality burners time after time, it only seemed fitting to establish his own record label, Trendkill Records, which is home to some of the hardest, cutting edge drum and bass. He has a very impressive back catalogue going back more than 10 years, which continually grows each year as he evolves his sound, bringing something fresh to the table yet keeping it consistently dark n dirty which has proved to be a recipe for success. His latest filth will be delivered to us by none other than the mighty Shogun Audio, which will be a debut solo release on the label, since his latest “Dark Moves” collaboration with label boss man, which featured in the Volume 3 edition of the “Friction Vs” series.
The first track we have is called “Nature of Reality” it has an absolutely monstrous intro, not by length but in size. Huge distorted synthy horns and sizzling percussion build up to a devastating drop in true Prolix style. Super tight poppy drums come to blow your mind while a rolling bassline sweeps through below. Next we have “Sycophant”, super energetic from the off this track blows right out the gates leaving no survivors. The gnarly synths and angry bass have you stomping harder than you thought you possibly could while the super shuffling hi hats and tambourines keep the groove rolling nicely. Prolix proving once again why his name is synonymous with harder, dancefloor smashing drum and bass and why his music is so devastating with perfect execution and tight production. Two face melters to add to any DJ’s library looking to blow their crowd away.
